Armoring & Ruggedizing Options

Not all armoring and ruggedizing options are available for all cable types. As you configure a cable assembly through our Find A Product Cable Configurator, the armor types available for your product choice will be presented in a pull-down menu.

RUGGEDIZED - Polyurethane Jacket

HARD ARMORED – Polyolefin Jacket

HARD ARMORED – No Polyolefin Jacket

SOFT ARMORED

RUGGEDIZED - Polyolefin Jacket

For applications requiring a slightly greater amount of compression resistance (300lbs/in), but where weight and flexibility are also critical. The cable is covered with a flexible wound helix of passivated stainless steel wire and a cross-linked polyolefin jacket. Temperature: –54° C thru +135° C.

RUGGEDIZED - Polyurethane Jacket
For applications where weight, flexibility, and abrasion resistance are critical and moderate compression resistance is required (300 lbs/in). The cable is covered with a flexible wound helix
of passivated stainless steel wire and an extruded polyurethane jacket. Temperature: –54° C thru +100° C.

HARD ARMORED - Polyolefin Jacket
For both inside and outside environments where the application requires the ultimate in cut and crush resistance (500 lbs/in), and flexibility and weight are not as critical. The cable is covered with a stainless steel interlocked armor; an additional polyolefin jacket is standard. Temperature: –54° C thru +135° C.

HARD ARMORED - No Polyolefin Jacket
For both inside and outside environments where the application requires the ultimate in cut and crush resistance (500 lbs/in), and flexibility and weight are not as critical. The cable is covered with a stainless steel interlocked armor. Temperature: –54° C thru +135° C.

SOFT ARMORED
For applications requiring abrasion resistance combined with improved compression resistance (400 lbs/in). Product remains very flexible. The FEP-jacketed cable is protected with a high density polyethylene anti-compression helix that is covered with a tough fuel and oil resistant Neoprene™ synthetic rubber. Per MIL-R-6855, Class 2, Grade 60. Temperature: –54° C thru +100° C.
