TTU-515/E [0/ITS]

The TTU/515E or O/I Level Test Set was developed to provide a full end-to-end test of the NACES and FAST electronic sequencers used on the NACES ejection seat. The O/ITS provides simulated inputs and measures the timing of initiator firing sequencer outputs. The O/ITS, via a serial channel in the test connector, performs discrete element diagnostics on all the sequencer's redundant electronics and verifies its full functionality.

 

The O/ITS is designed with safety lockouts to prevent power application in the event all cables are not connected prior to test. In the self-test mode, the O/ITS employs a complete wrap-around capability using the test cables and will fault isolate itself to the replaceable assemblies. All interconnecting cables are stowed in a stowage compartment in the lid. Qualified in accordance with MIL-T-28800C for Type II, Class 3 equipment, and EMI requirements of MIL-Std-461C for Class A-4 equipment.​

 

Digital Recovery Sequencer Test Set

The Digital Recovery Sequencer Test Set (DRSTS) was developed to provide a full end-to-end test of the DRS and MASS electronic sequencers used on the ACES II ejection seat. The DRSTS provides simulated inputs and measures the timing of initiator firing sequencer outputs. The DRSTS, via a serial channel in the test connector, performs discrete element diagnostics on all the sequencer's redundant electronics and verifies its full functionality.

The DRSTS is designed with safety lockouts to prevent power application in the event all cables are not connected prior to test.

In the self-test mode, the DRSTS employs a complete wrap-around capability using the test cables to verify its functionality prior to sequencer testing. All interconnecting cables are stowed in a stowage compartment in the lid.

The DRSTS is powered by 120V/60Hz standard power and is provided with cables to test both the DRS and MASS sequencers. While currently only available for the FIGHTER configuration of sequencer, it can be updated to test other ACES II sequencer configurations.

 

F15 Emergency Escape Sequencing System Tester

The Emergency Escape Sequencing System Test Set (EESSTS) was designed to test the Emergency Escape Sequencing System (EISS) on the F-15 aircraft. The EESSTS may be powered by either standard 120V/60Hz power or 120V/400Hz aircraft power to allow for flight line testing of the escape system.

The EESSTS is designed to safely permit detection and isolation of all system faults on the EESS. The fail safe design, in addition to tester self-test, provides a wrap-around test capability for fault detection of test cables. The EESSTS displays all faults to the operator to direct necessary maintenance, repair or disposition. The EESSTS will not inadvertently fire or initiate any EISS component and it provides personnel safety during all tests.

The EESSTS consists of all cables necessary to perform a complete end-to-end check on the escape system, testing of the Mode Selector, and continuity through the EED bridgewires.

It was designed using Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) components making it economically feasible in small quantities.

The EESST is equipped with a Built-in-Test (BIT), which provides better than 95% fault detection. The BIT is initiated when power is first applied and requires the test cables to be not connected. Only a successful BIT will allow the operator to verify the cable set to be used during flight line or maintenance testing. An error code displayed during the cable self-test function will require corrective action and retest.

 

F22 Emergency Escape Sequencing System Tester

  

The ​​E​mergency Escape Sequencing System Tester (EESST) was designed to test the Emergency Escape Sequencing System (EESS) found on the F-22 aircraft. The EESST is the first in its class that provides the ability to check and detect all system faults in the escape system. It was designed using Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) components making it economically feasible in small quantities.

The EESST is an AC powered unit and is designed to safely permit detection and isolati​on of all system faults on the EESS. The fail safe design, in addition to tester self-test, provides a wrap-around test capability for fault detection of test cables. The EESST displays all faults to the operator to direct necessary maintenance, repair or disposition. The EESST will not inadvertently fire or initiate any EESS component and it provides personnel safety during all tests.​

The EESST consists of all cables and connection jumpers necessary to perform a complete end-to-end check on the escape system, including continuity through the EED bridgewires.
